It is quite common that we will be working later than 7:30 pm on installation days, especially the closer it gets to the opening, so you are more than welcome to stay later on those days to help out!
Tasks:
Training will be provided on-site for the tasks required. You are not expected to already have any of these skills. All necessary materials and tools will of course be provided.
Hours:
Please sign up for each individual shift you plan to attend in order to record your service hours accurately. It not only helps us have just one place to reference for all the information but is also essential for grant applications that ask for our volunteer hours to assess our eligibility for funding.
It is strongly preferred, but not necessary, to be there at the start time of the shift or for the entirety of the shift, but please let us know in the notes when you plan to arrive and leave, even if tentative.
What to wear:
Something you don't mind sweating in or getting dirty! On painting days (Monday and Tuesday), make sure to wear clothes that you are ok getting paint on!
Perks:
-Volunteers get 50% off all cafe items during their volunteer shifts (excluding wine bottles).
-It's never a bad idea to bring your own water bottle, but we have plenty of free water bottles available to volunteers
Number of Volunteers:
If you notice particular days and times that are low on volunteers, please try to choose those times!
**Please note, shift times have been included for this installation to try and improve the amount of time dedicated to training for specific tasks and have a better grasp of how many volunteers I can expect during certain time frames. The idea is to have the previous shift of volunteers get the next shift of volunteers up to speed by describing what they have been working on and explaining how to complete the tasks they have been working on. It is strongly preferred that you arrive during the start time of the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift so that instructions and training can be provided to the entire group, rather than individually as people arrive. If you are unable to arrive at the shift start time, are unable to stay for the entirety of the shift, or need to span several shifts, that is totally ok! We would still be grateful and more than happy to have your help at any time you are available!
